Spanish developer Heliotech and its Romanian partner Solar Systems will develop a solar power project worth over EUR55 million in Harghita county, central Romania.
The project, with a power production capacity of 30 MW/h, will be located on a 100-hectare plot of land belonging to the Lazarea local administration.
Lazarea mayor Gabor Ladislau told Mediafax the photovoltaic power project will be developed by Solar Systems, Heliotech’s representative in Romania, and will cost over EUR55 million.
“The project was drawn up by Heliotech and will be financed with private investment funds. A Swiss pension fund is behind the project and will invest over EUR55 million in its development,” Ladislau added.
According to the mayor, the zoning plan for the project is underway, while the necessary authorization from electricity supplier Electrica has already been obtained.
Valencia-based Heliotech specializes in the production of renewable energy and providing expert advice in the field.
