The huge gas deposit discovered under the Black Sea by Petrom and Exxon could allow Romania to avoid expensive Russian imports for 25 years, but we must still wait until 2018 at least for this to happen, according to Stirile Pro Tv.
At current prices, the deposit discovered at 3,000 meters under the Black Sea bed is worth between 12 and 24 billion euros, depending on the real amount of gas it contains.
In theory, Romania is twice a winner. First, Petrom and Exxon will invest important sums in technology here, as the Americans announced they will make available 1.2 billion USD for the project. Second, the state also gains between 1.6 and 3.2 billion euros as royalties, even more if the National Agency of Mineral Resources moves ahead with its plan of rethinking its royalty policy.

Rezerva uriasa de gaze naturale, descoperita in adancurile Marii Negre de Petrom si americanii de la Exxon, ar putea sa scape Romania pentru 25 de ani de importurile scumpe de la rusi, scrie Stirile Pro Tv.
Mai avem insa de asteptat pana in 2018, in cel mai bun caz, pentru ca aceste gaze sa ajunga din Marea Neagra in casele noastre.
La preturile de astazi, zacamantul descoperit la 3000 de metri adancime in Marea Neagra are o valoare intre 12 si 24 de miliarde de euro in functie de cantitatea exacta de gaze. Deocamdata se sapa sonde de explorare si va mai dura pana cand vom aduce la suprafata gazele .
Teoretic, Romania castiga pe doua fronturi. In primul rand, Petrom si Exxon trebuie sa aduca sume importante de bani in Romania pentru tehnologie. Americanii au anuntat joi ca vor sa investeasca in urmatorii ani 1,2 miliarde de dolari in extragerea resurselor din Marea Neagra. In al doilea rand, statul castiga din redevente.
Asta inseamna un castig intre 1,6 si 3,2 miliarde de euro la bugetul de stat. Agentia resurselor minerale se gandeste sa refaca modul de calcul al redeventelor. Adica suma pe care o castiga statul din exploatarile firmelor private.
