She graduated with a double degree in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Bucharest (2009), a Master’s degree in Comparative and International Education from the University of Oxford (2011) and a Master’s degree in training (Education) from the University of Bucharest (2012), where she is currently pursuing a PhD in Education, with a particular interest in educational audit and teacher training.
Simona has worked in various sectors – from nongovernmental organizations, to public institutions and private companies in Romania, the UK and in the US, where she spent one year as an undergraduate exchange student at Ithaca College, through an Open Society Institute scholarship. She is one of the co-founders of an educational NGO, Link Education And Practice (LEAP), and she is currently working in Public Affairs for the national branch of a multinational FMCG company.
As Country Champion of the Oxford Education Society (OES), Simona aims to organize public seminars and conferences in collaboration with other local and national educational bodies for sharing good-practice and debating the newest research in the field of education, organize informal networking events, liaise with relevant organizations and institutions to identify new opportunities, promote the activity of the Oxford Education Society, as well as collaborate with OES representatives world-wide, in order to share experience and develop the network and the Oxford Education Society.
